Service dog evaluation and registry
Give yourself and additional layer of protection when confronted with public access obstacles. While there is no mandatory service dog vests, leashes, testing or registration through the ADA, we know that these things can make life a lot easier and can help people identify our dogs from a distance.
Who can register?
Our registry is open to anyone who has a disability, as defined by the ADA, and uses a dog who was specifically trained to do a task to help with that disability in any way.If you don't know if you quality for a service dog, or need help with training, please reach out to us at Lighthousek9s@gmail.com for info and advice.
WHY register my service dog?
Simply put, to provide an additional layer of credibility, and safeguard yourself from discriminatory practices.Lighthouse Canine Learning Center strives to provide a credible, tested service dog registry that can be verified online, and we also provide phone support and advocacy services. (NOT legal services, but we can connect you with any needed services.) This registry will be a voluntary way to show that your dog well-trained, capable of performing their task in public, and healthy enough to do this type of work.
Is this a legal registry?
Absolutely. Lighthouse Canine Learning Center is a Not-for-profit organization dedicated to service dog-handler teams, their families and the businesses they visit. Our test is simple and fair, and requires just the basics to be demonstrated. We know very well that having a disability and keeping up on a service dog is hard enough as it is, and will be here to support you and make things a little easier for your day-to-day accessibility.
It is, however, not legal to ask any service dog team for proof paperwork, registration, testing, evaluation or any other kind of "proof" that they are a service dog, and doing so can result in a minimum $4000 fine.

After the forms are completed, you can schedule your test here. The test fee is $250, and must be paid before you are added to the schedule. If you test as under-trained, you may re-take the test after 1 month.
We understand that you may be on a fixed income. We do offer some other alternatives for having those fees covered, including a personal fundraiser page, where all the proceeds from sales go towards your fees, including custom shirt designs, service dog gear and more.
