Donations, Volunteering & Our Mission

Is Lighthouse Canine Learning Center a nonprofit?
Yes! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives through service dog training, education, and community outreach. Our mission is to promote independence, accessibility, and meaningful human-canine partnerships. Donations help support our programs, care for our dogs, and expand access to assistance for individuals and families who need it. Contributions may be tax-deductible as permitted by law.
How are donations used?
Donations to Lighthouse Canine Learning Center help fund service dog training, veterinary care, health testing, food, equipment, and specialized training supplies. Contributions also support community outreach programs, therapy dog visits, and efforts to make service dogs more accessible to individuals and families with disabilities. Every donation helps us develop skilled canine partners and expand the impact of our programs in the community.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations may be tax-deductible as permitted by law. Your generosity helps support service dog training, canine care, and community outreach programs. We encourage donors to keep their donation receipts for tax purposes and consult a tax professional regarding their individual circumstances.
Can I sponsor a puppy or a service dog's training?
Absolutely! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center welcomes sponsorships to help support our puppies and service dogs throughout their training journey. Sponsors can help cover expenses such as veterinary care, food, equipment, and specialized training. Your sponsorship helps prepare a dog for its future role supporting a person with a disability. Every contribution brings us one step closer to creating life-changing partnerships between dogs and the people who need them.
Do you accept donations of dog food, crates, or training equipment?
Yes! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center welcomes in-kind donations such as dog food, treats, toys, crates, grooming supplies, leashes, collars, and training equipment. These items help us care for our dogs and prepare them for their future roles as service dogs and therapy dogs. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in supporting our mission. Please contact us to coordinate a donation and discuss our current needs.
Can I volunteer or become a puppy raiser?
Absolutely! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center welcomes people who want to make a difference in the lives of future service dogs. Volunteers may be able to assist with events, community outreach, dog care, and other program needs. Puppy raisers play a special role by helping young dogs develop confidence, manners, and foundational skills before advanced training. Opportunities depend on current program needs, and training and guidance are provided as appropriate. Contact us to learn how you can get involved!
Can a business partner with Lighthouse?
Absolutely! Lighthouse Canine Learning Center welcomes partnerships with businesses that share our commitment to accessibility, education, and community impact. Businesses can support our mission through sponsorships, donations, fundraising, community events, and collaborative programs. Whether you're a small local business or a larger organization, we'd love to explore ways to work together and make a difference in the lives of individuals and families who benefit from our programs. Contact us to discuss partnership opportunities.
How can I help make service dogs more accessible to people who need them?
There are many ways to help make service dogs more accessible, including sponsoring a dog's training, making a donation, volunteering, becoming a puppy raiser, or partnering with Lighthouse Canine Learning Center. Contributions help cover the significant costs of raising, caring for, and training service dogs. Community support allows us to reach more individuals and families with disabilities who could benefit from a canine partner. Together, we can help make greater independence, confidence, and accessibility possible for those who need it most.
